RECOGNITION OF ASSOCIATESHIP IN INFORMATION SCIENCE (AIS) AWARDED BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION RESOURCES (NISCAIR), INDIA
Your kind attention is invited to the Establishments Circular Letter No.02/2007 dated 28/02/2007 on the above subject.
The University Grants Commission at its 742nd meeting held on 25/9/2007 having noted that paragraph 02 of the Establishments Circular Letter No.02/2007 dated 28.02.2007 has been misinterpreted by the Universities and Higher Educational Institutions decided to amend the last line of the said paragraph to read as "Confirmation in the post of Assistant Librarian and for the subsequent promotion to the post of Senior Assistant Librarian, Grade II in the University System".
Accordingly, the paragraph 02 of Establishments Circular Letter No 02/2007 is amended to read as follows:-
The University Grants Commission at its 742nd meeting held on 25/9/2007 decided to accept the Associateship in Information Science awarded by the National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources, India as an approved Postgraduate qualification required for confirmation in the post of Assistant Librarian and for the subsequent promotion to the post of Senior Assistant Librarian, Grade II in the University System.
Please take action accordingly
