Be a globally recognized leader to promote and regulate equitable and quality higher education that drives innovation and the Knowledge Economy of Sri Lanka.
MISSION
Regulate and accelerate the development of universities by laying down policy, providing resources, promoting innovation and industry linkage to make a socially responsible and sustainable contribution to the country.
VALUES
The core values at UGC explain what we stand for and the way in which we intend to conduct our activities. Further, they represent the hallmark of our culture as the apex body of the State University System in Sri Lanka and provide the abiding principles that will guide us towards achieving our vision, goals and accompanying objectives.
The four core values identified at the UGC are:
