NOTICE - Issuing Letters of Recognition for Local & Foreign Qualifications

Please make the request
  1. Through the Payment Gateway - click here to online application & payment gateway
       OR
  2. Through an email to recog@ugc.ac.lk
    Applicants are requested to send the following documents to recog@ugc.ac.lk along with your request to obtain the Letter of Recognition.
  • Request letter indicating the Address of the applicant which will be appeared in the letter.
  • Copy of the Degree/Diploma/Provisional and/or any other relevant certificate or Transcripts attested by a Justice of Peace/Attorney-at -Law/Grama Niladhari.
  • Scanned image of the original certificate
  • Scanned Copy of the National Identity Card
  • Scanned Copy of Bank Slip (Please make the payment to the Bank & send customer copy which indicates your Name & Bank Details)
** Do not make any payment for the letter of recognition of Universities/HEIs under the purview of the UGC.
** Please note that ATM deposit Receipts/Slips and Bank Slips without details of the applicants will not be accepted.
** Payments made for the Letter of Recognition of the qualifications/Institutes which are not recognized by the UGC will not be refunded.
Please make the payment to University Grants Commission Account as mentioned below;
- Recognition of foreign University/HEI - Rs. 2,500/- per certificate
- Recognition of other Qualifications - Rs. 2,000/- per certificate
