ALLOWANCES TO STENOGRAPHERS

Your reference is drawn to Commission Circular No.287 of 17th December, 1984.
The University Grants Commission at its 285th meeting held on 19th December, 1989 decided to revise the existing rates of payment made to Stenographers for recording minutes of meetings of the Commission, Councils, Boards of Management, CVCD, USAB, Standing Committees of the UGC and other Statutory Bodies recognized in the Universities Act.No.16 of 1978 in view of the fact that covering of meetings requires special skills over, and above the normal skills of Stenographers.
