PROMOTION TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (MEDICAL & NON-MEDICAL) ON TIME SCALE (BY NORMAL. PROMOTION)
Your attention is drawn to the Scheme of Recruitment of the post of Associate Professor (Medical and Non-Medical) by normal promotion sent with Commission Circular No. 228 of 51st May 1985.
02. The Commission, having reviewed the time scale promotion to posts of Associate Professor (Medical and Non-Medical), decided to delegate to the respective Councils of the Universities the authority to grant approval for time scale promotions to Associate Professorships recommended by duly constituted Selection Committees without having to send them to the Commission for approval.
03. The Commission has further decided to advise the Universities to keep the UGC informed of such promotions so that the UGC can make the necessary adjustments in the cadre of the respective Universities.
04. With the implementation of the above decision, sub-paragraph 3:9 of the Marking Scheme for Promotion to Associate Professorship on a time scale sent with Commission Circular No.302 of 30th April 1985 is to be considered deleted.
05. The provisions of this Circular are effective from 15.02.1990.
