STUDY OF U.S. INSTITUTES FOR SCHOLARS AND SECONDARY EDUCATORS


Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Scholars is a post-graduate level academic program for mid-career foreign scholars, faculty, and practitioners whose purpose is to strengthen curricula and to improve the teaching about the United States in academic institutions abroad. This is a six week long program. During the Institutes, scholars engage in rigorous academic coursework and panel discussions, interact, and establish networks with American scholars, meet with experts in respective disciplines, visit civic institutions, and in some cases, participate in research symposia and conferences.

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars comprise the following themes:

  • American Culture and Values
  • Education and Workforce Development
  • Journalism and Media
  • Religious Freedom and Pluralism in the United States
  • U.S. Economics and Business
  • U.S. Foreign Policy

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary Educators (SUSI) is an intensive post-graduate level academic program whose purpose is to provide foreign secondary school educators and administrators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions. This program will take place at various academic institutions throughout the United States over the course of five weeks beginning in June 2022.
