SURETIES TO BONDS AND AGREEMENTS

This Circular has been modified by Circular No : 792

In considering a request made by the Federation of University Teachers' Association, the Commission has decided to permit the Higher Educational Institutions, up to a maximum of 06 persons, to sign bonds and agreements in respect to teachers going on study leave. Accordingly, paragraph 33(a) of Chapter X of the Establishments Code of the University Grants Commission and the Higher Educational Institutions is amended as follows :-

"Agreement and Bond

33(a) Every teacher and every Assistant Librarian, Grade II who avails himself of study leave under this chapter shall enter into an agreement undertaking, inter-alia to serve the Higher Educational Institution concerned for such period as is appropriate to his period of such leave on resumption of duties. He shall, in addition, bind himself together with upto a maximum of 06 acceptable sureties in a bond, who will be jointly and individually responsible to pay the bonded amount in case of default of the conditions in the bonds and agreements."


This decision of the Commission will come into force with effect from 1st September 1991.
