APPOINTMENT OF AUDIT & MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES IN PUBLIC ENTERPRISES
Your attention is drawn to Public Finance Circular No. PF/PE3 dated 19.11.1999 on the above matter.
In terms of the provision in the above Circular, the Audit & Management Committee should consist of at least three Board members chaired by a Non Executive Director.
As discussed at the meeting with the Hon. Minister of Tertiary Education & Training and the Auditor General on 26th June 2002, the following composition has been decided by the Commission.
- Member of the Council (Chair) (UGC appointed Member)
- Two other members of the Council, preferably those in the Finance Committee
- Registrar
- Deputy Internal Auditor/Senior Assistant Internal Auditor/Assistant Internal Auditor(Convenor)
The term of Reference of the committee as indicated in the Treasury Circular are Annexed to this Circular.
