RESTORATION OF PAYMENT OF RISK ALLOWANCE

Your kind attention is drawn to Establishments Circular Letter No.37/1990 dated 15th October 1990, issued in respect of the above matter.

The University Grants Commission at its 346th meeting held on 25th February 1992, decided to continue the payment of Risk Allowance to those categories of employees who were paid the Risk Allowance earlier and to extend the payment to those who were recruited after 30th January 1964, until such time as either a formal Risk Allowance Scheme is formulated or alternative arrangements are made in keeping with Workmen's Compensation or other ordinances.

Accordingly, the following categories of employees and who had earlier been in receipt of this allowance and those who have been recruited after 30th January 1964 will be eligible to draw the Risk Allowance as personal to them at the rate of 15% of the basic salary of their respective post, subject to a ceiling of Rs.111/- p.m.

The payment of Risk Allowance will be effective from 01.10.1990.
