PROMOTION OF EMPLOYEES CARRYING SALARY SCALES FROM A-05 TO A-14
Your kind attention is invited to the provisions in Commission Circular No.766 of 1st June 2000 issued in respect of the above subject.
The University Grants Commission at its 594th and 599 th meetings held on 17.08.2001 and 30.10.2001 respectively decided that all employees holding the posts carrying A-05 to A-14 salary codes will be eligible for grade to grade promotions from the date on which they become eligible for promotion. The above decision is effective from 01.01.2002 subject to following conditions.
| (i) | In the case of promotions made prior to the 01.01.2002, adjustment of the due date of promotion will apply only to the immediate last promotion of each employee. | |
| (ii) | The dates of promotions prior to the immediate last promotion should not be considered in determining the above due date | |
| (iii) | No payment of arrears should be made in respect of this adjustment. | |
| (iv) | For promotions which have to be made after the implementation of this decision, applications will be invited from those who were eligible as at 31st December of each year following the procedure adopted at present. However, the date of promotion should be effected on the date he/she becomes eligible for promotion. The dates of conducting the trade, written or aptitude tests or interviews should not be treated as the date of promotion .. | |

The employees entitled for adjustment of due date of their immediate promotions in terms of the provisions made herein should make an appeal to the Secretary, University Grants Commission/ Registrar/Deputy Registrar/Senior Assistant Registrar attached to the University/Institute/ Institution as the case may be within a period of 03 months from the date of the issuing of this circular. |
