RATES OF PAYMENT FOR INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY UNIVERSITIES
Your kind attention is drawn to page 5 and 9 of Commission Circular No.636 dated 14.07.1995 with regard to payment to examiners for marking of Reports, Essays and Dissertations submitted for Undergraduate Examinations and for the marking of Dissertation/Thesis in the Postgraduate examinations respectively.
The University Grants Commission at its 625 th meeting held on 09.01.2003 decided to amend the circular No. 636 in the following manner.

| Delete the words "Internal & Extemal Examiners" and substitute with : | ||
Special : Internal & External Examiners attached to the same University or other local University - Rs. 100/-per Report / Essay / Dissertation |

| Include a new column as "External Examiners attached to the same University or other local University" in between Local Examiners and Foreign Examiners columns as follows : | ||

| For degrees of one year's duration | Rs.400/- | Rs.400/- | £30 | |
| For degrees of two year's duration | Rs.600/- | Rs.600/- | £50 | |

The above amendments with the revised rates of payment are effective from 01.01.2003.
