RATES OF PAYMENT FOR CONDUCTING EXAMINATIONS FOR RECRUITMENT OF STENOGRAPHERS/TYPISTS

Your reference is requested to Establishments Circular Letter No.33/1990 dated 31st August 1990, on the above subject.
The University Grants Commission has decided to revise the rates levied for conducting examinations for the recruitment of Stenographers/Typists.
(i) SETTING A QUESTION PAPER IN SHORTHAND
60 to 70 words per minute - Rs.115 /-
75 to 85 words per minute - Rs.140 /-
90 to 100 words per minute - Rs.150 /-
110 to 120 words per minute - Rs.175 /-
Above 120 words per minute - Rs.185 /-
(ii) SETTING A QUESTION PAPER IN TYPEWRITING
200 to 250 words - Rs.115 /-
300 to 350 words - Rs.125 /-
400 to 450 words - Rs.150 /-
500 to 550 words - Rs.175 /-
Above 600 words - Rs.200 /-
Manuscript - Rs.150 /-
(iii) Fees for conducting an examination -
Reading a speed passage for a group (for a batch of 30 candidates) - Rs. 50 /-
Typing test for a group of 15 candidates - Rs. 30 /-
(iv) Fees for Co-ordinator - Rs.150 /-
(v) Fees for an Invigilator - Rs. 85 /-
(vi) Marking per script -
From 200 to 400 words - Rs.5/-
More than 400 words - Rs.7/-
(vii) Travelling expenses for a day - Rs. 75 /-
(viii) Minimum payment - If the total payment for the whole examination is less than Rs . 300 /-, the minimum payment of Rs . 300 /- should be applicable.
The fee of Rs. 50 /- for conducting an exmination as specified in paragraph 2(iii) above could be paid even if the number of candidates present at an examination is less than 30.
Please effect payments in terms of the revised rates for conducting examinations for the recruitment of Stenographers/Typists in the service of the Commission and of the Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes.
The new rates of payment will be effective from 1st January 1992.
