PAYMENT OF INTERIM ALLOWANCES TO ACADEMIC, ACADEMIC SUPPORT, ADMINISTRATIVE, MEDICAL AND NON-ACADEMIC NON- ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM.
Your kind attention is invited to the provisions in Commission Circulars No. 862 dated 16th June 2005 and No. 865 dated 29th July 2005 issued in respect of the payment of interim allowances from 1st January 2005 to permanent employees in the University System.
2. The Universities and the Higher Educational Institutions are requested to take steps to pay the arrears payable in terms of the above two Circulars in the following manner :-
Academic and other “B” grades | » | From 01st January 2005 to 31st May 2005 |

Non- Academic Non- Administrative Staff – From 01st January to 30th June 2005 |
3. The payment of arrears should be made in three (03) equal monthly installments starting from January 2007.
4. The Universities and the Higher Educational Institutions are required to pay the arrears from the recurrent allocations of 2007 as the General Treasury will not provide additional allocations for this purpose.
5. Provident Fund, ETF, Pension and Gratuity will not apply to these allowances.
6. Please take action accordingly.
