AMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEMES OF RECRUITMENT FOR
THE POSTS OF ASSISTANT SECRETARY (AS) / ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (AR) / ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (AA) / ASSISTANT BURSAR (AB) / ASSISTANT INTERNAL AUDITOR (AIA)
I wish to invite your attention to the schemes of recruitment for the above posts stipulated in Commission Circular No.440 dated 02nd May 1990.
| 2. | The University Grants Commission at its 483rd meeting held on 29th November 1996 decided that future recruitments to the posts of AS/AR/AA/AB/AIA should be made in accordance with the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers taken on 16.08.1995. | |
| 3. | In terms of this decision Recruitments will be made in order of merit which will be decided on the basis of aggregate marks of a written examination and an interview. | |
| 4. | Reference is drawn to the Note "Selection by Interview" appearing under the "Method of Recruitment" of the relevant Schemes of Recruitment sent along with Circular No.440. In view of the Cabinet decision referred to in Para 2 above, the following new paragraph is included in place of the note "Selection by interview". |

Selection in order of merit will be decided on the basis of aggregate marks of a written examination (75% marks will be allocated) and an interview (25% marks will be allocated). |

| The provisions in the first paragraph and sub paras appearing under the note in "Method of Recruitment" will continue to apply. | ||
| 5. | The interview conducted for recruitment will be structured; among the factors that will be considered at the interview for internal candidates are the following: | |
| (a) | Satisfactory service which is proved by the documents available in the personal file and the 03 increments earned annually for 03 years immediately prior to the closing date of applications. | |
| (b) | Special report submitted by the Head of the Division/Department. | |
| (c) | Extra qualifications/skills. | |
| (d) | Performance at the interview. | |
| 6. | New Schemes of Recruitment incorporating the above amendments will be issued in due course. | |
| 7. | This Circular will come into force immediately. Please bring this to the notice of all employees. | |
