GRANTING OF INCREMENTS TO HOLDERS OF DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT, OPENUNIVERSITY OF SRI LANKA AND/OR NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN TECHnOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF MORATUWA
The Commission at its 483rd meeting held on 29th November 1996 decided to grant two increments to Non-Staff grade employees who possess Diploma in Management (Open University of Sri Lanka) and/or, National Diploma in Technology (NDT) (University of Moratuwa) certificates as an incentive for enhancing their knowledge and skills required for career development on the following basis with effect from 01.01.1997.
| (a) | The increments should be paid only to the employees in Non-Staff grades * (A-05 to A-15) who have successfully completed Diploma in Management Course of Study conducted by the Open University and/or National Diploma in Technology Course of Study conducted by the University of Moratuwa provided they have not been recruited/promoted on the basis of such qualifications in terms of approved schemes of recruitment. | |

Diploma in Management Course should be considered as relevant to Non-Technical Grades and NDT should be considered as relevant to Technical Grades; please follow the list attached to Commission Circular No.705 dated 25th March 1997 for identification of Technical Grades. |
| (b) | In the case of employees who have reached the maximum of the Salary Scale, give the benefit of two increments based on the last increment. | |
| (c) | The employees who are drawing 03 increments in terms of Commission Circular No.490 as amended by the Commission Circular No.520 or Commission Circular No.540 are not eligible for this payment. | |
| (d) | Any employee who is granted increments in terms of this circular will cease to enjoy such benefit when they are appointed/promoted to a post in A-04 or higher salary scale or when they are appointed/promoted to any post on the basis of the qualification of Diploma in Management or National Diploma in Technology. | |
