FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
This Circular has been rescinded by Circular No : 462 | 613
The University Grants Commission at its 283rd meeting held on 6th December, 1989 decided to increase the Bursaries, Mahapola Scholarships and Endowed Scholarship payments by Rs.150/- per instalment.
The increase in the Endowed Scholarship payment is effective from 1990.
All payments (other than the Mahapola normal payments) should be made out of the University Fund. These payments will be reimbursed by the Accountant, University Grants Commission on request. Requests for reimbursement should be sent by the Bursar/Senior Assistant Bursar/Assistant Bursar at the end of each quarter, in the formats enclosed.
The University Grants Commission at its 279th meeting, decided to authorise the Governing Authorities to make decisions on matters relating to the restoration of Scholarships and bursaries.
Please take action accordingly.
